Sherymay Centeno – General Virtual Assistant, Customer Service

Hi! My name is Sherymay Centeno. I am 36 years old. My nickname is Sheng. I live in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines. I am the mother of a 16-year-old lovely girl. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in financial management. Almost a month ago, I decided to go out of my comfort zone to try remote jobs or freelancing jobs. I finally tendered my resignation last July 2024. I’ve been employed in a bank as a customer advisor for almost 11 years. This was my very first job, and I am proud to say that I have honed a lot of skills and experiences in the banking industry, which have had a great impact on who I have become right now. Letting go of the first ever job I had was really heartbreaking and exciting as well.

For me, this is an endless opportunity to unleash my full potential in various fields in the virtual world. Taking a big leap is like having the courage to spread your wings to countless endeavours and struggles that will shape me more to be more reliable, experienced, and disciplined to succeed in life. I really want to gain personal and career growth. This is really what I dream of: to be able to work in the comfort of my home, to have a work-life balance, to eat cooked meals every day with no traffic, no long commute, and lastly, no office drama.

Today, I am really looking for an opportunity to showcase my skills and experiences to any client that needs my assistance. I am having a positive mindset that I will soon land a job using your platform. In 11 years of working the bank, I developed skills such as customer service, technical skills, problem solving skills, sales, interpersonal skills, risk management, regulatory knowledge, communication, financial analysis, credit, CRM, CMS, MS proficient, email management, calendar management, data entry, time management, etc. I was able to gain industry knowledge since one of the core values of the bank is continued improvement or learning. This knowledge includes Economic Trends: Understanding of macroeconomic factors, market trends, and their impact on banking operations and financial markets. Financial Products: knowledge of various banking products and services, including loans, mortgages, investment options, and retirement plans. Technology Trends: awareness of how technological advancements, such as fintech and digital banking, are shaping the industry. Despite all these skills, I wish to gain more skills and knowledge in different industries that these remote jobs need. I am very excited to transition today and will do my best to land my first client soon! Thank you!
