Shelley Villarin – Civil Engineer, Graphic Design

Greetings!

I am Shelley Mae D. Villarin, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Civil Engineering. I am a holder of licenses pertaining to Civil Engineer and Master Plumber.

I began my career in designing at a shipbuilding company a few years ago, but I have always known that my strength lies in estimating. I’ve always been good with numbers and I am very keen on details and I have been building a career as an estimator for the last 4 years, especially in my role at Landtraders World Properties. My role at the company further developed my estimating knowledge as I was preparing estimates for structural and architectural sides of their high-rise buildings which means that I have the ability to scale and read blueprints of floor plans, elevation plans, and any other plans. I also prepare the letters and contracts for the execution of the project. My communication skill was developed as well as I attended coordination meetings with owners, contractors, and subcontractors.

In my recent role at Bahamas Waterproofing, I worked as a remote Construction VA. I mostly handle the 3D design and PowerPoint presentation for the owner to the clients. It was my first job working as a remote worker and I reported directly to the owner. I also did some minor estimating works as I presented my skills to the owner. I’ve been really enjoying that part of my work and have grown in my roles and I’m especially interested in bringing the experience I’ve gained to the team that I will be having here.

I have been doing some freelancing on the sides and that’s where I have gained my knowledge with Planswift and Bluebeam Revu- software that is greatly used in Estimating. Not just that, but I really love working with technical issues pertaining to Kajabi, WordPress, and other related software that needs tech support. I really love surfing the net to resolve any matter pertaining to technology.

Outside the office, I’m an avid reader and writer. I spent most of my weekends writing or reading anything that sparks my interest. I want to own a dog. Preferably a Pomeranian one.

My experience has prepared me to take on any challenges or duties entrusted to me. I am willing and able to work long hours to meet deadlines.
