Shaun Lee Go – Financial Planning Assistant

Hello, inhabitants of Earth! I’m kidding, I didn’t want to sound like an alien or such. I’m Shaun Lee Go by the way, and please call me Shaun.  A middle child from a fun and outgoing family. Despite being a breadwinner, I’m a simple guy with a simple dream of sustaining and providing for my family’s needs. I graduated in Physical Therapy from Liceo De Cagayan University in 2020. I may come from a medical field, but life sure is full of surprises with where I am now, and where I see myself in the future.

I kickstarted my career during the onset of the recent pandemic, where a lot of things came to a halt, including PRC board examinations. I took on the big responsibility of supporting my family’s needs. I got hired to a local BPO company where I worked as a Customer Service Representative under a US-based retail account. Little did I know, this was also the onset of a new path I’ve never even thought about.

Since then, I’ve always wondered, and I wanted to test out the extent of my capabilities. As someone who always strives for growth and development. I’ve dedicated my time to honing my professional skills, especially in communication. I found passion in engaging with people, addressing their concerns, and providing support as needed.

It was fun learning and experiencing new things with colleagues working onsite. Until a situation came where I had to find a different work setup which would allow me to continue earning and providing for my family’s needs, but at the same time, watch over my sick dad at home. I got hired in a PH-based virtual assistance agency where I was given the position of a Financial Planning Assistant for Australian-based clients. I’ve worked for two years, where I’ve provided administrative support to an Australian-based wealth management practice.

During my career as an FPA working remotely, I’ve learned and developed more skills through experience and training. I’ve even learned the importance of autonomous working behavior which I believe is highly relevant for a remote employee. Along with an excellent eye for detail and an adaptable personality, this has made me a reliable and dependable team member.

As someone who loves learning and experiencing new things, I even ventured the field of Social Media Management. I attended professional training and learned through experience by freelancing.

Ultimately, I have enjoyed this life and career of working remotely for internationally based clients, where I am able to learn and grow my skills while maintaining my responsibility as a breadwinner. As someone who truly values results and relationships, I only hope to aid clients and businesses in achieving their goals.
