Sahara Mae Tamayo – Accountant
Ever since I was a kid, I already loved to deal with numbers and enjoyed solving maths problems. That’s why, I’ve decided to make my passion a profession so I can enjoy it as much as possible!
I’ve been practicing accounting for four years now and worked with multiple companies where I managed or was involved with different accounting operational functions such as accounts payable/receivable, accounts/banks reconciliation, general ledger, taxation, payroll, inventory, cash management and treasury. On top of that, I handled Customer Service, Administration and HR matters during the start of my career. I am highly skilled with MS Office applications and familiar with several accounting software programs.
In addition to this, I’m a registered member of the National Institute of Accounting Technicians (NIAT) in the Philippines, and have been since 2017. In the same year, I achieved a few international/globally accredited certifications/licenses such as MICB (Member of Institute of Certified Bookkeepers-UK), RCA (Registered Cost Accountant-Australia) and CAT (Certified Accounting Technician-Canada).
I have acquainted myself with qualities that I believe will help me become successful in my career: teamwork and communication, time management, organisational skills, attention to details/accuracy, sense of integrity and accountability.
I’m passionate in what I do and about learning. I’m also interested in learning and working beyond my specialisation. I’m quick to comprehend and become familiar with systems/processes in a short period of time. I constantly challenge myself and seek opportunities to develop professionally. I take pride in what I do and go beyond what is expected of me.
On a personal note, I do enjoy traveling and mountain climbing. I’m also interested in photography and trying to improve on this. I’m an only child so I’m used to doing things independently and get the job done as soon as possible. Maybe this is one of the reasons why I have set a high standard for myself and for my work.
So that’s it for me. I look forward meeting and working with you. Cheers!
