Ruby Angela Pagalan – Admin Assistant, Social Media Manager and eCommerce Management
Hi there, I am Ruby Angela Pagalan… but most of my friends call me by my first name “Rubz”.
I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information and Technology and though it was a very challenging course for me (because basically, writing and speaking were really my passion and almost thought of taking B.S in Mass Communication), however, I never really regret I took it because I am very happy I was able to use all my learnings from this for my career today.
At the age of 3, my father passed away. I grew up being raised by a single mom. Life may be hard growing without a father figure but my mother and my family, especially my grandparents never made me feel incomplete. I even had a pampered life better than other people with a complete family might have.
One turning point of my life was when I had my first-born child. During the first few years of my own family life, I was able to work office-based however, it has been so hard for me not being able to take care of my child at the same time. So, I decided to go back to working home-based. I actually started working homebased for part time positions when I was still in college. From then on, my life has been very different. It was more fulfilling this time, being able to exercise my role as a mother while also earning and building my career at the same time.
My daughter has been my no. 1 inspiration for all my hard work, and I would say it has been very effective. I was able to set my goal not just for me but also for my family, I was able to send my daughter to school, was able to get us our own house and was able to provide for my family. Indeed, nothing is impossible if you have dreams and you have the drive for reaching those dreams.
This year would be my 6th year of being a General Virtual Assistant. Over these years, I was able to work with different clients globally and from different business industries. Although, dealing with a new and different industry is a challenging thing (especially during the first few days as you still need to learn the ins and outs of the business), I’d say I am very happy to have experienced these challenges as it had helped me to become more versatile, learn to use many different tools, and not to mention – be able to work with clients from different parts of the world.
I am a very passionate type of a person. I am a go-getter, and I love challenges!
Aside from loving my VA-life, I also love music and travel. Thus, I make sure I always exercise a work and life balance because I believe this is a very important factor for a healthy work environment… and being in a healthy work environment leads to living a healthy life.
