Roxanne Jane Facurib – General Virtual Assistant
I have always been a “strong, independent hustling” type of girl. I have been moulded to be a dream chaser and a go-getter. That is one of the reasons I have pursued online freelancing for the past five years: It has allowed me to grow and learn many new skills. I have been in the Digital Marketing Industry since 2019, and have evolved my expertise to other things; whatever my client needs, I am eager to learn as fast as I can to be able to help improve the business.
After graduating from one of the top universities in the Philippines, the University of the Philippines, Cebu, I have already set myself to reach my full potential. I have tried and thrived in corporate jobs, and have also worked in the government as a Project Development Officer. While having a day job, I have maintained freelancing online work, but very minimal. After many years of working on a desk, I always come back to want to work online, the freedom to work anywhere always captivates me.
With this, I have made it a goal to build my skills to become valuable in my field. I have nurtured my expertise in Social media management, by learning how to better understand trends and create strategies for my clients to achieve their business goals. It has always felt like a personal mission for me to reach and surpass the metrics set. At the end of every campaign we do, the happiness of my clients is the top priority.
Now, whenever I look back, I am very glad of how far I have come. I am grateful for the relationships I have build from what started of as clients. I have learned so many things, and discovered a part of myself I know I would not be able to discover if I have chosen a different path. There is a different kind of resilience and growth that is required from freelancers like myself. However, I am also still very much aware of how big the digital world is, and I will always be a half-empty cup craving to be filled with the outpour of knowledge and experience this industry has to offer.
The road is still far ahead, but I am also very grateful for the journey that has been. I am optimistic that in this field, I still have a lot to learn and a lot of space to grow. I am looking forward to growing in this journey.
