Rea Joy Rimorin – Virtual Assistant
Hi, my name is Rea Joy Rimorin, I am a mom to a 6-year-old beautiful daughter. I am the eldest child among four siblings, and here’s my story.
I have been working from home for the past two years since the pandemic was still having a big effect on our lives. We were still renting when the pandemic hit, and my family experienced a really hard fall when my partner was not able to work. Since he is the breadwinner, we were not able to pay rent and all the bills that were due, so I took the courage and looked for jobs online. It was hard because I did not have any experience and knowledge about how working from home was. I have sent a lot of applications, but months after months, I was still not hired. Luckily, since I have friends who have experience working online jobs, I was referred and was offered a job. Today, I can say that I am now an experienced administrative assistant.
I worked as a receptionist for over a year at one of the best tourist spots here in the Philippines, San Juan, the Surfing Capital of the North. I worked in Sebay Surf Central Resort, and I was responsible for greeting visitors and accepting deliveries. My main job was handling incoming calls, booking room reservations, and maintaining office directories. I also assisted other administrative staff with overflow work, including word processing, data entry, and research. We also offered surfing activities and guide tourists to nearby attractions. Being a receptionist was challenging and fun because it always tested our nerves and tactfulness, especially under pressurised work conditions. Nevertheless, we were always uplifted by meeting guests who were kind, friendly and treated us like real people. While the position of a receptionist is challenging, there are five fundamental abilities that I have acquired: digital proficiency, emotional intelligence, excellent communication, time management, and an autonomous attitude to work.
I also worked remotely as an administrative assistant for a tutoring company in Chicago for over a year. I’m a hard-working assistant who helped with the company’s lead generation tasks where I gather lists of prospects for the company and offer our services. My duties include conducting research and organising data, interacting with customers or clients on our employer’s behalf through emails, and performing additional clerical duties like updating calendars and sorting documents. I also train newly hired virtual assistants where I share my knowledge and experiences.
Right now, I am looking for another opportunity to broaden my skills to become a more experienced virtual assistant and administer companies’ tasks and projects. I am honest, accountable, diligent, and organised. I can perform email management, lead research, data entry, calendar management, and real estate research. I am familiar with the Google Suite tools, Microsoft Office tools, Canva, Google Calendar, Team Viewer, Nord VPN, Craigslist, Ring Central, Hushed, Zoom, and Skype apps.
I’m excited for the opportunity to leverage my experience as a top-performing administrative assistant to generate new leads, identify markets and build meaningful customer relationships. I hope you will consider me as a valuable member of your team, and be certain that I will offer the finest results possible.
