Rachel Celis – Executive Assistant, Customer Service, Finance
Hello there! I am Rachel Paula Celis, better known as Rachel. I am the eldest of 6 siblings and the breadwinner of the family. I am a college undergrad at the University of San Jose-Recoletos located in Cebu City, Philippines, where I took up a Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting. Back then, I had to stop going to school since my grandparents were already old and no longer capable of producing more income for the family. Yes, we are staying with our grandparents since our parents couldn’t take care of us.
I have been working since the year 2013 as a Customer Service Representative for two years in one of the biggest telecommunications companies in the United States and became a team leader for two years for the same company. Currently, I am a supervisor for QA and Training for Finance Accounts Receivables in one of the publishing companies located in Bloomington, Indiana. Before I became a supervisor in my current workplace, I started as a Customer Support Representative for three months. I became a trainer for eight months and got promoted to a senior trainer for a year which eventually led me to become a supervisor.
During college, I always made sure to participate in management and leadership seminars and had been part of the Supreme Student Council. It was where I acquired most of my management and leadership skills. I also ensured to outperform myself and prove that I do better than my last. I can work independently and can be relied on. I am flexible and can adapt to changes. I can work under pressure and on shifting schedules when needed. Lastly, I love working with people. I’ve been a facilitator for seminars and hosted events. I also do training, create and formulate process flows, join UAT training for new company systems, draft initiatives to improve the skills of our people to promote high-quality results and handle customers with complex needs and complaints.
I love what I do. However, I need to expand my horizon to new knowledge and skills to continue growing as an individual. That is when I discovered virtual assistance and its array of tasks and responsibilities. I may be new to this industry, but I am working on acquiring these skills by attending seminars and courses to become a virtual assistant. It may be challenging, but I am looking forward to this new endeavor with you.
