Phil James Gutierrez – Executive Virtual Assistant

phil-gutierrez-vaHi, I am Phil James Gutierrez. You can call me Phil. When Covid hit, I was in the middle of my college life, and I decided not to bring my education to a halt because of the pandemic. I saw the pandemic as an opportunity to grow in this new learning method — online modality. Through this, I was able to survive, got my degree, and graduate on time.

Not long after graduation, I was lucky to grab my first client, entering the work-from-home force as a part-time Social Media Manager. Four months after, I was called to be part of an office job as a Human Resource Associate, and I took the job. I work in the morning as part of HR and do freelance at night. That went over five months when I decided to review for my professional license as a Psychometrician. On weekdays, I work in the morning as part of HR, freelance at night, and on weekends, I go to class from eight to five.

All those juggling in time and work bore fruit as I passed my professional examination. However, I lost two jobs a month after passing the exam, my first client had to let me go because of low sales, and I was forced to leave my HR position as I needed to relocate temporarily and care for an ill family member.

Those experiences taught me things, from learning menial tasks to overcoming peer-to-peer conflicts. I experienced growth in my hard skills; I became goal-oriented, excellent at acquiring the resources I needed, and equipped with new rising technologies. My experiences taught me principles that I applied in my day-to-day life. phil-gutierrez-vaRespecting other’s time, money, and resources, and being disciplined and accountable for my actions.

look forward to the new possibility of staying with a long-term client as a social media manager or working and being part of the human resources department of an agency and practicing my knowledge in that profession. I am ready to embark on a new journey as I have always been doing.
