Patricia Florentino – Technical Support Representative, ESL

Hi, my name is Patricia Frances Anne Florentino, but you can call me Frances for short. I am 26 years old and I live in the Philippines. I am a graduate of the University of the Philippines, Los Banos and I took up Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts major in Speech Communication and minor in Writing. I was a gymnast when I was younger but I stopped when I went to college since I had to leave my hometown where I was training for the sport. Currently, I am engaged to my college sweetheart and we are proud parents of our one-and-a-half-year-old baby daughter.

In the past, I worked as a Technical Support Representative for Telstra and I was also a Sales Representative for FedEx before I switched to a home based career.

When I had my daughter, I decided that I wanted to be a hands-on mum and make sure that I am present for all her milestones, so I left the corporate world and switched to being a virtual assistant or any home based job available. For my first home based job, I was a virtual assistant for a Korean plastic surgery company and I was mostly assigned to create content for their website and edit posts for their social media pages. Currently, I work part time as an ESL tutor for Japanese students and full time as a remote proctor for students who are taking their exams online from different countries.

I am more than happy right now that I switched to a home based career because even with the pandemic, I am still able to work smoothly and provide income for my family. Not only was I able to take care of my family, but I was also able to enhance my skills and develop new ones as well.

With my experiences, I was able to learn and master how to use several applications like Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Goto Meeting, Zoho, Slack, Kartra, Trello, Amazon Workspace, Telegram, Canva, and Skype.

Most of all, what I like about my job is that I can help clients grow and improve their businesses while being comfortable in my own space, thus I am able to do more than what is expected.
