Marie Cris E. Mabuhay – Telemarketer and Lead Generation Specialist
“To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured by money,
and that is sincerity and integrity!” – Douglas Adams
Hello there! Welcome to my story.
My name is Marie Cris Mabuhay, born and raised in Naga City (The Happy Place), the heart of Bicol peninsula, Philippines.
When I was a kid I thought of becoming a fashion designer but when I reached high school I realised that there’s no design school that I can pursue my passion for creating my own clothing line. So in college I decided to take BS Civil Engineering even if it’s not my first love, but still, the good side was I will still be “designing” a house. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish my school due to our family’s financial crisis. My parents couldn’t afford my college fees anymore and I still have younger siblings as well.
Anyways, how you view life is a choice. So instead of dwelling on the situation I looked for opportunities to keep me going.
I decided to look for a job so I can start earning money to help my family with our financial needs. Luckily, without any work experience, I landed my first job in the BPO industry in 2009 as a Customer Service Representative. I worked my way up from being CS agent to product trainer and eventually being a team leader in some of the biggest names in the business industries of Telco, Airline, Credit Card and accounting softwares. I have gained experience in Sales, Customer Service, Learning and Development and Management and have attended numerous leadership training and seminars along the way.
I received awards and recognition for my hard work back then. But above all, what was extra special was when I saw my agents perform and being promoted in their chosen paths… this was the most rewarding part of my stay. No amount of words can explain how happy I am seeing them grow.
I had to leave the BPO world in 2015 and started my own food cart business, as apart from designing, I also have a passion and the taste for cooking. Funds, resources and great support from my family was there so I took the chance to enter the food business.
In 2016 another blessing came – I fell pregnant! 🙂 I have a beautiful daughter and her name is Olivia. Everything changed from that moment on and I know that it has changed for the better. 2016 was the same year that I started working from home. I have worked as a telemarketer, lead generation specialist, and assistant.
Above and beyond the skills that I have developed, I am a woman of integrity and that is the value that I uphold the most in all of my life’s choices. Now, I want to continue being an empowered woman and still be able to take care of my daughter while pursuing a great career working from home. I want to contribute and be a part of your company’s success as an employee serving a mutual purpose. Let us grow together, as a team!
Thank you for taking the time to read my short story.
Again this is Marie, your future VA.
