Manny Deimos – Graphic Design
Hi, my name is Manny (not the senator). I am a graphic designer and a fun-loving guy.
I can talk about the meaning of life, Matrix movies, how confusing the ending of the Inception was, and of course unicorns, until morning. I love to binge-watch stand-up comedies in my free time; being a stand-up comedian was my fourth aspiration when I was in college. I love to crack jokes with people. The dopamine I get when I see people smile and laugh, it’s very fulfilling to share your happiness. But it turns out stand-up comedy is not a profitable career for guys like me, so I had to switch to my third aspiration, become a Ninja (kidding).
I am the fourth among the six children of my parents. I had a typical upbringing. I grew up tending our farm together with my family so I can say that in the early days of my life, I have learned the value of every peso I gain – hard work, discipline, and endurance. That went on until I graduated from high school.
Fortunately, I was able to get a scholarship from a local college as a working student, where I worked for 8 hours and took 4-hour classes every day for 2 years. I was able to finish a vocational 2-year computer technology course with flying colors. The school decided to hire me as one of their Network Specialists where I worked side by side with the network administrator, maintaining the school’s website, and helping with the graphic design requirements (brochures, flyers, banners, business cards). The experience was very fulfilling since I had learned so much from the 3 years of working there. I’ve widened my knowledge and skills in designing. From that experience, I realised that I want to become a full-fledged graphic designer along with other skills.
So I decided to work with other brands, getting small projects from local restaurants, coffee shops, manufacturers, which greatly helped me financially and of course advanced my knowledge and skills in design. I’ve learned to edit videos, create social media post graphics, negotiate with clients, product presentations, create simple landing pages, and of course, understand the client’s needs because not everyone is the same.
A friend introduced me to Amazon, together we worked for a client creating designs for t-shirts, hats, hoodies but it didn’t last long since it’s a start-up. But I never stopped there. I thought that freelancing is a better option to have a better compensation compared to working with local companies. I enrolled
in a freelancing course, which opened opportunities for me to work with overseas companies and brands. This helped improve my skills in design, which will benefit me and of course for the clients in helping them scale up their businesses.
If you are looking for a Graphic designer that will help you scale up your business, is hardworking, fun-loving, and a ninja, please consider me to be your remote team member.
