Ma. Rhea Bergante – Virtual Administrative Manager

Hello, I’m Ma. Rhea Charo M. Bergante, but my friends and family call me Iya or simply Rhea (pronounced Re-ya). I was born in the beautiful City of Iloilo, also known as the City of Love. Our lifestyle and culture are often described as sweet, affectionate, and soft-spoken. Even in moments of anger or anxiety, our tone remains tender and caring. However, despite this reputation, I sometimes joke that I can turn into a dinosaur, especially since I’m a mom of five. Jokes aside, being a mom of all seasons, from teens to toddlers, is the highlight of my life.

My professional journey began early at the age of 20 as an intern in a distribution company. I discovered my talent for organizing things and finding joy in structuring tasks systematically to boost my productivity. After college, I delved into more organizational tasks through marriage and motherhood, mastering skills like time management, calendar scheduling, budgeting, and bookkeeping, which I still apply daily as a hands-on mom.

In 2013, I reinvented myself by tutoring foreign learners and exploring the world of online work. I started my online career as an ESL Online Teacher and progressed to become a Team Manager for Filipino teachers. This experience was pivotal, allowing me to immerse myself in building our company’s mission and vision. This role expanded my skills in recruitment, training, coaching, finance, payroll, social media management, and marketing. Unfortunately, due to economic challenges and pandemic impacts, the business faced setbacks, prompting me to seek alternative income sources for our growing family.

In 2023, I joined an ed-tech company as a Client Happiness Manager, where I excelled at building strong relationships with our clients, primarily aspiring IT professionals, and problem-solving. My role involved resolving issues such as refunds, billing discrepancies, and study gaps while fostering a supportive community among students, teachers, and mentors.

I was promoted as Team Leader for our Study Team in the Philippines handling weekly updates and creating action plans aligned to our Team’s objectives and key results.
Although the company faced challenges and eventually folded, I remain steadfast in my pursuit of opportunities where I can contribute my administrative skills and dedication.

My career aspirations include continuous growth, learning, and the application of new skills to enhance both my professional endeavours and personal life. Working from home has proven effective and efficient for me and my family, and I look forward to the next chapter of my journey.
