Loralai Hipolito – Customer Service, Central Support Specialist
Hi! I’m Loralai P. Hipolito, 27 years old and an only child. Growing up alone as an only child, I sometimes felt envious of my friends who had siblings. They got to have an instant playmate every now and then. But as I grew older, I appreciated the beauty of being an only child. I learned how to be independent and to take care of myself.
My dad died when I was 18 after complications due to a motorcycle accident. After he passed away, that’s when I realised that we should value our loved ones since we never know if it’s the last time we will ever see them. I also learned to make the most out of your time by giving love and spreading good vibes.
I previously worked in a hotel in which I learned various skills like data encoding, verifying and customer service. As a fresh graduate, everything was new to me and working in a hotel helped me become patient, to be always mindful of every transaction and to multi-task, as well as to have quick decision making skills within a short period of time since any delay can cause dissatisfaction of our guest.
Fast forward, I now work in a bank and my experience in customer service helped me handle different kinds of clients and help them in any way that I can. I also learned to use time management more wisely since we have a target per month and to be able to achieve that, I have to manage my time to do more tasks without compromising the quality of my work.
On my free days, I usually watch series or movies on Netflix or spend time with my loved ones, and every once in a while, travel or do some outdoor activities. I also like to play badminton and karate, though people find it hard to believe that a girl like me would have such interest in karate since I look like someone who can’t throw a punch or do a round house kick – but surprisingly I can do both and have been to few karate tournaments.
Growing up, I always wanted to be a police officer and a lawyer. There’s a certain spark I feel when I see my dad dressed in his uniform or my grandfather getting ready for his court appearances. I know this is a bit cliché but I really wanted to be just like them to help people and to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. I hope that I can some day achieve both, or at least one of the two.
My fear is being rejected or not being good enough, but I have learned that being afraid of taking risks will get you nowhere and you will only be filled with regrets and what ifs if you didn’t try. I also learned that if you feel that you are not good enough, you should be open to new learnings for you to improve yourself.
My dream is to have my own house someday with a big garden so that my mum can continue her passion, to get married and have a family of my own and to start a charity by the Grace of God, which focuses on the elderly because it breaks my heart whenever I see elderly people being neglected by their families. I aim to help them enjoy their remaining years filled with love and happiness.
Overall, this set of skills, dreams and experience is my armour in this new venture that I want to try and that is to be a Virtual Assistant. I may not have all the skills but I believe that everything can be learned if one is willing. I hope in the near future, I could also try different work like Bookkeeping or even marketing and sales so that I can use my degree in Business Administration.
I hope that you will give me a chance to showcase my skills and knowledge. Hoping to work with you soon. Thank you and God bless.
