Leilani Ramirez – General Virtual Assistant, Customer Service Support

Hi, I’m Leilani Galit-Ramirez, but most people call me Lei. I’m 29 years old and my journey has been a blend of persistence, growth, and new beginnings.

I graduated from Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in 2015 with a degree in Financial Management. The time I spent studying was both intense and inspiring, and it really fueled my passion for finance. But the road after graduation wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. It took me five months to land my first job, and during that time, I faced a lot of rejections. It was tough and discouraging, but I kept pushing through, determined to find the right opportunity. Eventually, my perseverance paid off, and I landed my first job as a bank teller in my hometown.

My time at the bank turned out to be incredibly rewarding. I stayed in that position for almost eight years, and it was a fantastic training ground. I loved the work I was doing, from helping customers with their financial needs to handling transactions and managing accounts. It felt great to be part of a community and to build lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues.

Leaving the bank last year was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. I had developed deep connections and friendships, and it felt like leaving behind a second family. But as life changes, so do our priorities. With the idea of starting a family becoming more real, I knew I needed to reevaluate my career goals.

Last year was a big year for me on a personal front, too. I got married! Our wedding was an amazing day filled with love and laughter, surrounded by family and friends who supported us. It was a joyful start to a new chapter in my life. Since starting a family is on the horizon, having the flexibility to spend time with my loved ones is really important to me.

One of my core aspirations is to find a career that offers a good work-life balance. I believe that balancing professional ambitions with personal well-being is crucial for a fulfilling life. As I continue to navigate my career path, I’m focused on finding opportunities that align with this goal, allowing me to grow professionally while enjoying a harmonious personal life.

As I look forward, I’m eager to see where this new path will take me. Each step of my journey, from the job search to marriage and leaving my first job, has taught me something valuable. I’m excited about the future and ready to embrace the opportunities freelancing might bring.
