Kim Medel – Administrative Assistant
My name is Kim Maureen C. Medel. Family and close friends call me Kim or Kimmy. I am a 41-year-old work-from-home mother of five and I’ve been in this industry since mid-2000.
It has always been my passion to write ever since I can remember. At age 14, I have started with short love poems at the back of my journal notebook. Later on, I became a literary writer for our college magazine, until my passion became a fruitful profession.
I graduated Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Notre Dame University here in the Philippines back in 2003. I became a mother at an early age and so caring for my children was the priority – I wanted to make a home for my then husband and young family. Working in a corporate setting was not an option for me. My mother, who was a Paralegal in the US, first introduced me to online work.
It suited me very well since I can work remotely even with minimal supervision as long as the task was provided to me in a clear template. Most often, my due dates were achieved and I always see to it that what is expected of me by my client/employer are closed on time. I am reliable, and I am a talented writer with mostly ghost-writing experience to boot.
I have written thousands of blogs and articles since 2009 for various clients that I transacted with.
My mission in life is to grow, develop, and improve on all aspects that I am passionate at right now. These include my passion for online selling and writing. I formulate and sell cosmetics and my company name is KK Goddess Beauty, DTI-registered. I also refer real estate clients to my broker, since my PRC license is still pending. So far, in our team of almost 20 agents here in Davao City, Philippines, I am the Top 2 Sales Agent for the first quarter of 2021. But I miss writing and earning from it, which is why I am building and strengthening my online presence.
I will never forget my mother quoting Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit.” If you want to be excellent, you need to practice. This is what I do with my life now – I practice all of my passions every day, writing included, because I wake up with a purpose.
My favorite writer of all time, Napoleon Hill, has influenced me greatly: Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure.
I do not accept temporary defeat. Instead, I move past it and soldier on some more. This is me, in a nutshell, in life and in work.
