Kevin Conejos – Administrative Assistant, Accounting
As said by the famous philosopher “ I know that I have known nothing” (Socrates)
This quotation is my fundamental principle in life. It means you need to explore beyond your expertise like the jack of all trades, and always be teachable at all times.
Hi, I’m Mr. Kevin Dave. An undergraduate of Bachelor of science in Management Accounting and a Senior High school graduate with certificate in technical vocational education. I majored in hotel and food and beverages management. I gained my apprenticeship in a hotel and café here in the Philippines. They later absorbed me as a customer service representative and front desk, where I gained my communication skills and social skills in handling customer concerns and complaints. During that time, I did not expect that they would hire me due to lack of experience but luckily I took the job. I almost spent my one and half years handling that post. But to continue to grow I resign.
I then entered another job, which is bookkeeping, processing accounting records and management. I gained my accounting skills with the help of my back up knowledge as an undergraduate management accounting student. Despite my lack of experience, I managed to handle the job. In fact, I take the task of preparing emails, preparing legal documents as well as contracts ready for signing and handling tax documents ready to be filed. I work hands- on . I also practice my negotiation skills and communication. I took seminars and trainings to enhance my proficiency in Microsoft word, Microsoft PowerPoint and excel which is vital to handling the job because it requires presentation and reporting to the top and middle management.
After long years of hard work, they assigned me to another position where I serve as an outside affairs of our firm. One of my notable accomplishments was outside affairs where they assigned me handle the branding and registration of our company as a trademark. I served as representative to process our application of trademarks of the Philippines. After one and half years, the trademark of the Philippines granted our registration. Through the use of my communication skills , I managed to talk directly to the director of trademark and escalate our registration. The rest is history.
