Keiff Adrian Garcia – Graphic Designer, Social Media Manager

Hi, I am Keiff Adrian Garcia, but you can call me Keiff. I am 26 years old. Growing up as the youngest of three siblings, I always felt a deep connection to my family, especially to my mother, a dedicated teacher. “Anak ng Titser,”(Son of a Teacher) she would proudly say, emphasising the value of education and hard work that she instilled in us. When I became a Restaurant Manager at a young age, I could see the pride in her eyes. “Manager yan, anak ko yan!”(That’s my son, he is a manager!) she’d exclaim with joy, because in the Philippines being a restaurant manager is a big deal. But life took an unexpected turn during the pandemic. I became the breadwinner, working tirelessly to support my family, but the job’s demands became overwhelming, leading me to question my path.

From a young age, I was drawn to art and media. While my siblings excelled in academics, I found joy in drawing, designing, and eventually, creating digital content. I pursued a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, graduated Cum Laude, and even took on leadership roles early in my career. However, something was always missing a creative outlet that could let my ideas flourish. This led me to take on roles that, while valuable, didn’t fully align with my passions.

The stress of the restaurant industry during such challenging times was too much, and I knew I had to make a change. I left that life behind, seeking a work-from-home setup that was becoming popular in the Philippines. I transitioned into a sales agent role, but it didn’t feel right either. The pressure, the expectations, and the lingering feeling that I was disappointing my family weighed heavily on me.

Yet, amid this uncertainty, I discovered a passion that had always been quietly present: creating content. I have always enjoyed the creative process, whether designing posters or managing social media pages. I remembered my success with my Facebook business page, The Smart Generation PH, where I built a positive online community and significantly increased engagement. That experience rekindled a spark in me, a realisation that my true calling lay in the digital world.

I decided to embrace this passion fully and pursue a career as a Social Media Manager. It wasn’t the path my parents had envisioned, but it made me feel alive and fulfilled. I knew I could combine my creative skills, leadership experience, and love for storytelling to make a real impact in this field.

Now, as I apply for the Social Media Manager position at Virtual Assistant Team, I bring with me not just skills and experience, but a deep sense of purpose. My journey has taught me that success isn’t about meeting others’ expectations but about finding joy and meaning in what you do. And I’m ready to share that passion with the world, one post at a time.
