Karla Hipona – Administrative Assistant, Customer Service
Hi, I am Karla Sofya Ferolino-Hipona, or you can call me Kissa. I am happily married and a mother to one lovely boy. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Ateneo de Davao University. The learnings I attained encouraged me to create a small craft business online that aims to provide personalized creations upon my client’s preferred designs. My craft business unleashed my creativity and talent, which aids me mentally, especially during this time of pandemic.
I was previously employed as a Financial Advisor in RCBC Bank, then along came a new opportunity. I moved to EastWest Bank as a Customer Relationship Officer, then the pandemic came. I feared so much for our son, so I decided to quit my job. It was a tough decision to stay at home and start all over again. But then, since I am a licensed financial advisor, I used the opportunity, and currently, I am working as a part time FA to one of the best insurance institutions here in the Philippines, Insular Life.
Basically, my role as a financial advisor is to help my clients identify and discover their financial needs; and then create solutions to address the financial uncertainties, of course through the help of our financial plans. On the other hand, being a financial advisor is not just about selling, you must also be equipped with the right skills and knowledge so you can utilise the basic systems in monitoring, marketing, and promotions by creating ads, social media marketing, and transmitting emails to prospective clients.
However, I want to make things available for my family, and at the same time have the fulfillment of working while meeting new people at the comfort of my home. That is why I chose to apply as a Virtual Assistant. To be fair, I am very new to this type of working environment; and honestly, I was ambivalent at first because I never experienced working virtually. But nevertheless, I am very optimistic that I have the edge since the skills needed are not new to me at all, and I am also extremely committed to work, goal-oriented, extra keen to details, reliable, and innovative. Therefore, these equipped me to confidently learn the work at no time and achieve success.
I know working at home will be different from being at the office, yet I am excited to start and try the new working environment that will help me further grow my learnings and skills, that along the way will not just contribute to the company’s success, but also build my character as a career woman.
