Julie Luna – Administrative Assistant, Business Process Specialist
Hi. My name is Julie Anne Luna. My friends and colleagues call me Lian, but if they really want to get my attention real quick they would call me Li and I know that it means that he or she is in trouble and needs support on the floor.
I was born and raised in the province but after graduating college, I left my comfort zone and tried my luck coming to the city alone and applied for a job. After two months of trying and waiting, I landed my first job. I really wanted to be in a manufacturing company because I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Operation Management. I thought that my plan to be an operations manager of a manufacturing company is that easy but I guess God’s plan is better than mine.
I eventually loved the job of being an insurance professional. For 6 years in the BPO setting, I learned and am still learning many things after working different types of insurance. Minimum calls, analyzing reports, setting up claims, getting familiarized with the terms used for property, healthcare and workers compensation, and also the satisfaction of helping someone whether it is an adjuster or an insured. The fact that I somehow ease their work is so fulfilling. I recently passed AINS 21 and am waiting to continue my journey in the field of insurance.
Months after the start of the pandemic, I tried sending out my application to be a VA. I was lucky that the company I am with right now is currently implementing WFH setup and for more than a year I was the only one providing for our family since my partner and brother’s employer had to lay off their employees. That led me to loan to the banks and government institutions just to get by. I am working at night and looking for a WFH day job that can help me financially.
Other than to be financially stable again, my other goal is to learn more things from other people I could possibly work with. It may be in the other field or something that is really new to me but it would still give me a chance to grow. I love challenges, maybe this is why it happened to me and I always remind myself not to give up and keep moving forward.
I hope that you and I will work together soon. ☺
