Joshua Toledo – Accountant and Consultant

I am a practising accountant for five years now and have been exposed to Australian taxation and accounting practices for two years where I’ve performed Bookkeeping, ITR, PTR, TTR, CTR (little) and management reporting. I’ve used Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks and Microsoft products such as excel, word, outlook, etc.

I am a dreamer, and I grew up where people predefined my future. I am 3rd from the oldest among seven siblings, and my family is the typical, financially challenged portrait in the Philippines. No one ever believed in me except my mother. I barely survived high school due to our challenging situation, but I got through it all because I had a dream.

When I entered college, many people pressured me to abandon my studies and start earning a living to help my family. To them, finishing college is a luxury and too much to be pursued by a person like me. But I persevered because I know education will be my key out of poverty. I juggled both full-time work and studies. It was a stressful experience, but it taught me the value of time management and prioritisation.

I’m telling you this not to feel pity for what I went through but to illustrate the kind of journey I’ve faced that molded the person I am today. I value integrity above all because I know at the end of the day, what will matter most is the quality of the journey to get to our goals and not necessarily the goals themselves.

Should you consider me, you’ll not get a ‘perfect accountant’, but a purposeful and dedicated business partner. I’ll ensure that we both set clear performance indicators so I can continuously gauge if I am able to give value to your business because my personal end goal is to make a difference in my little way.
