Josalyn Climaco – General Virtual Assistant

josalyn-climaco-vaHi! I am Josalyn Climaco, you can call me Josa. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Biology major in Environmental Biology from the University of Santo Tomas. Last November 2022, I decided to begin working. I worked as Engineering Assistant at Environmental Management Bureau 5, where I provided assistance to technical staff in the conduct of monitoring/inspection/investigation/validation and carried out administrative functions, such as preparation of letter-reply, letter directive and other related correspondence, recording of incoming/outgoing communications, filing, scanning monitoring/inspection reports and other necessary documents, preparation of the report of undertaking/minutes of meeting and other documentations and creation of power point presentations for meetings/lectures etc. Being part of this agency helped me to increase my knowledge and skills in this role.

After a year in service in Environmental Management Bureau 5, I decided to find a career where work-life balance is highly valued. Because I really value my time for my family and it is one of my priorities, I find it suitable to delve into the world of online job. I applied in different companies that offer online jobs, interviewed by them and gone to intensive trainings for two months, but I failed. Nevertheless, failure cannot stop me from pursuing what I have been praying for, to be a virtual assistant. So, I prayed again, tried again, the same process- applied, passed requirements, interviewed by different companies, until last February 2024, someone replied to my email stating that she wanted me to be part of their company. My heart rejoiced when I read the email stated: “You are in!”

josalyn-climaco-vaI worked as a Pastoral Virtual Assistant in an Australian Company started on February 2024. I have done all virtual administrative tasks, such as handling social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram and meta business inbox and managing social media posts using Canva and reels. However, after two months of working, the owner of the company decided to end the contract because the income is not coming in, so she will not be able to afford to pay me. But because I love what I was doing, I volunteered in doing the tasks until I find another job opportunity. Then this came!

All these experiences helped me to hone more my skills, such as having exceptional organisational skills, excellent communication skills, time management and proficiency in using different kind of tools (Canva, Notion, Trello and other google tools). Also, it increased my passion to be more committed, compassionate, and competent to perform the task efficiently.

I believe that leadership, integrity, faith, excellence, and reliability, which I have, are the most essential qualities to be an effective Virtual Assistant in your company.
