Jierette Genetia – Administrative Assistant, Graphics Editor
Hi! I’m Jierette Genetia. My nickname is Jet.
I’m a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Philippine Christian University last 2015. Due to family and financial concerns, I graduated later than expected. But it didn’t hinder me from finishing my studies. In my mind at that time, I had to be a degree holder to be successful in life. But life has taught me differently.
After graduating, I got a job, not in line with the course I’ve taken because of my family’s state of a financial urgency. I needed to land a job as soon as I could to help support them. And that’s when I ended up working in a BPO company.
I started off as an Office Associate for a US based company. It was a business to business E-commerce. Our team was assigned to marketing our client’s products online thru Amazon, eBay, and other global online marketplaces by using different marketing strategies such as Purchasing, Page Ranking, Review Counterfeit, Review Hunting, Article Review, Report Abuse, Product Hunting, and Business Reports.
At first, I thought BPO was only about making and receiving calls. But I was wrong. My job made me realize how broad the career opportunities are in a BPO setup. And that organizational skills are as important to anyone’s success. This made me want to learn new skills which I didn’t learn from school.
Soon enough, I was given an opportunity to work in a pioneering graphics team. It was difficult at first because I don’t really have an in-depth knowledge of it. But once I understood the flow of work, I easily made my way through and unexpectedly got promoted as the Business Team Lead after more than a year.
But learning doesn’t stop there. One of the greatest challenges I’ve had was handling a team. And also, to assist our client with his business operations here. Communication is very vital both to our client and my team as well. Fortunately, I managed to deliver good results which led to our client’s business to grow.
From all these work experiences, I developed a sense of ownership of every task given to me. I consider it as if I’m also an owner of the business. I gained skills such as multitasking, decision-making, problem-solving, and team leadership.
I also widened my knowledge by enrolling in an online academy for aspiring virtual assistants. I learned email and calendar management, web research, e-commerce management, social media management, and graphic design using online creative platforms.
If given the opportunity, I’m confident that my proven track record of good work ethic and unparalleled attention to detail will make me an immediate asset to your business, and allow me to contribute to the team’s success.
