Jhoanna Carla Tan Almazan – Administrative and Sales Associate
Hi! My name is Jhoanna Carla Almazan, born and raised in Davao City, Philippines.
My mother is a teacher and my father is a police officer. They were separated since I was one year old. I have 3 brothers and I am the youngest in the family. We were raised and taught by our mother to be content with what we have as she is a single parent and on a tight budget. Despite this we learned to live our lives, and progress with our lives without our father’s support.
After how many years, with so many struggles, through perseverance, hard work, and with the help of our eldest brother who worked abroad, we were able to survive these financial conditions. And because of those struggles, I learned to be independent, resourceful, and to think in advance and plan for the future.
As of the moment, I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, who are my inspiration to keep focused on what I am doing, and be the best version of me. I don’t want them to experience or to go through what I have been through – even though I really need to teach them a lot about life, and how to handle it. I want to give them the best and secure their future.
After graduating a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, I was able to work as a waitress for 2 years. I also worked 3 years as an advanced account specialist in a BPO company, an encoder and administrative officer in an accounting firm for 3 years, a sales associate for 4 years, and a Human Resource Assistant for 2 years.
Having positions in different fields of work has been very helpful. Particularly, knowing how to prioritise, having the opportunity to learn and enhance my skills and knowledge, mastering the art of multitasking, managing my time and of course appreciating the things that I learned by being open minded and taking criticism positively.
I am also proud because I was able to help clients or companies where I worked before to mitigate risk and guard against losses. I have demonstrated strong communication skills with each of my accounts, and delivered outstanding service by thoroughly explaining features, benefits and coverage options to promote company’s products or services optimally suited to customer needs.
Currently I am working part time as an online English tutor. And hopefully I will be able to secure another online job, because I know that with my knowledge and skills, being versatile are some of the qualities that the companies or clients usually look for. I will be a secret weapon, will be working diligently to ensure goals are met, and daily operations run smoothly.
