Jerome Lalaguna – Customer Service Representative
Most people call me Jerome or Lala because of my surname! lol hahaha. I don’t have high educational attainment but all I got is perseverance and determination. I had my first job as a customer service representative in a BPO company. Knowing that my English communication skills is not really good, I struggled hard and wanted to run away from the office during my first week. But I managed to be mentally and emotionally strong in order for me to keep my dream job. I’ve worked with different companies and assumed positions where I got the other skills that I need.
It is indeed a stepping stone process and I’m proud of where I am now. I came from nothing, no one has expected that I would be where I am now, even with myself.
After I graduated from high school, I used to help my mom sew rags and help my father in his daily trip as a jeepney driver. We were struggling financially so they cannot afford to send me to college. After few years of being a home buddy, I started to apply for a decent job to help my family with our daily needs. I tried to apply as a construction worker but my body can’t manage the heavy load of work every day that’s why I considered applying for a call center job.
It took me several months of constantly applying almost every day before I got a stint for a seasonal campaign. I’m thankful for the learnings I gained. After working as a customer service representative, I challenged myself to work for an Australian Debt Collection Agency. I fell in love working with numbers, quotas, and hitting targets every month.
After working for a collection agency, I then considered working for a sales campaign where I improve my negotiation skills and my desire for hitting up the target for each month.
Right now, I’d like to expand my horizon and take advantage of being at home while bringing my talent and skills to your great company. I know I will grow more here for our mutual success.
