Jenny Lou Sienes – Customer Service Advocate, General VA

Hi, I am Jenny Lou. I am a mom of two lovely daughters. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English with flying colors at Tagoloan Community College. I am a Licensed Professional Teacher with exposure to diverse roles, industries and challenges. I often encounter people asking why I did not pursue teaching even if I already have a license to teach.

Reflecting on my first three years in college, I didn’t dislike my course, but I realised that teaching wasn’t my true passion. Nonetheless, I fulfilled my responsibilities as a student and don’t recall ever complaining about the activities, projects, or requirements of my program. I remained open to learning new things and gaining experiences that contributed to my personal growth, and I worked hard despite the challenges I faced. There was no barrier between me and my course, which allowed me to navigate it comfortably, ultimately leading to my graduation with distinction.

I tried a teaching career after my graduation and after several times of contemplating, I realised that I must look for a job that will help make me grow and at the same time happy. So I tried applying for a Customer Service job and I felt like this is the one I am looking for.

Life is full of surprises. I got pregnant so I needed to stop working as my OB advised me. I even left my hometown for good and settle with my own family. After giving birth, I tried another job available near our place which is being a Human Resource Coordinator but I really missed working as Customer Service Advocate and at the same time I really wanted to work from home since I am going to give birth to my second child.

I am grateful for all the experiences I had way back then. I was able to leverage my skills and knowledge on different fields.

My long term goals involve growing in a company where I can continue to learn and contribute as much of value as I can and at the same time be the best mother I can be to my daughters. I believe working from home often leads to a better work-life balance, as it allows for more control over how to integrate professional responsibilities with personal life. This can result in improved overall well-being and satisfaction, both at work and at home.
