Jenesa Mabanta – Teacher/Assistant Manager, Human Resource Specialist

Hi! I am Jenesa S. Mabanta. I go by a lot of nicknames, but I want you to call me Jen for short. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Arts major in Political Science. I am an aunt to nine nephews and nieces, which is one of the reasons why I must strive even harder to help them most simply. I once wished to work in a government department, but not until I discovered this kind of setup. I was inspired by my partner in life, my boyfriend, because he has worked as a virtual assistant for 2 years or more now, and it captured my interest to work the same as him.

Actually, after my graduation, I was hired directly by a distributor company, where I had my on-the-job training. They hired me two days before my graduation. I was over the moon knowing that life after graduation wasn’t so hard since there was a company that was waiting and wanting me already. I work there as a human resources specialist and was assigned to manpower talent pooling, hiring, and claims liquidation. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked at Primus Ventures, as it helped me grow both personally and professionally.

But before achieving those, due to the life crisis plus the pandemic, and to be honest, we were not that fortunate enough to support our studies. So when I was 17 years old, I started to work as a front-liner here in my locality and earned a very little amount of salary. But I was very grateful already for that since I knew to myself that I could help now my family little by little.

After that, I spent the whole summer applying and working for a company here in my locality, which I’m very proud of since I can now also save my own money and buy things that I want, especially dresses. I never stopped my studies while working for a living; although it was a very great challenge since I was bombarded with all schedules and workloads, I managed to handle it well, made it to finals, and graduated.

In my current position, I work from home as an IELTS and ESL teacher. Teaching young learners and adults in particular in China. I help them with their studies and even prepare the adults in the preparation of their IELTS examination to achieve their target score band and help them with their English communication skills. I gained a lot of feedback that my students did achieve their score bands because of me, and I was honoured. I get to enjoy this also since it allows me to help students improve their English communication skills as well as their target goals.

Every experience I’ve had, whether managing complex tasks, adapting to new environments, or finding creative solutions under pressure, has contributed to the person I am today resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organised. These experiences have sharpened my ability to stay focused, communicate effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities at once, all of which are essential for a virtual assistant. They’ve prepared me not just to meet expectations but to anticipate needs and add value in any role I take on.

I think that would be all, and I am really hoping to be part of your amazing team soon! Thank you!
