Geraljade Paduganan – Administrative Assistant

Greetings! I am Geraljade Paduganan, but you can call me Jade. I am a single mother of an eight year old girl.

I studied Culinary Arts in the Culinary Institute of Cagayan De Oro and became an assistant manager in a resort. However, I decided to finish a different degree which is Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Xavier University. The day after my graduation, I had to start my training with a highly patronised, low-cost airline company in the country. Our training was surprisingly difficult because we had to memorise procedures verbatim in a day and study for another topic and of course, show up in the training center in our absolute best. That experience, however, made me value time so much and made me realise that if you really want something, you’ll find a way to make it happen. I was with the company for three years but unfortunately, I was laid off due to the global pandemic. The first six months after losing my job was very hard for me because I was hoping that things would get better and go back to normal. So, I started my small business, where I sold pasta and made handmade bouquets for all types of events. My bookings were always full in the first few months but the demand slowly dropped off after a few months.

I value integrity and kindness so much because I believe that these are necessary in building one’s character. I go by the saying “you can change a man’s personality but you can never rebuild his character”. Initiative and conscientiousness are a few of the strong qualities I have. These two will help me obtain success in everything that I do. I am fluent in English, offer good customer service and I am also a trained first aider. I manage my time efficiently, can multitask and still obtain good results. I like to work in an orderly manner by organising my to-do list. Deadline is an alarming word for me so I tend to do things ahead so it doesn’t cause me anxiety.
