Geraldine Gamit – Administrative Assistant

Hi, I am Geraldine Gamit and you can call me Din. I graduated from the Technological Institute of the Philippines – Manila with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Working from home once crossed my mind but since I have a full-time job, as a Structural Detailer, I haven’t had the chance to look for an online job not until the pandemic started. The company that I was working with chose to consider those who are residing near the office because there are only limited vehicles that can travel at that time; and for the rest of us, we were given a “no work, no pay” policy. Because I didn’t have enough salary, I decided to resign and find a job online.

I have been working as a freelancer for 2 years now and I started out doing graphics on Canva; and rebranding graphics and pdf files. After months of working online, I was given an opportunity to work on Social Media Management, Lead Generation on Social Media Platforms like Instagram and Facebook, email management, WordPress, and creating invoices. As a fast learner with the ability to work alone and with a team, I could easily learn the different kinds of software that my clients asked me to use. Most of my clients are in the fitness community, knowing that they trust me and they are satisfied with my service. This makes my job fulfilling, stress-free, and enjoyable.

Now, as I am able to adapt to the work-from-home environment, I also want to pursue working with clients that are in line with my profession. During my former job as a Structural Detailer, I acted as an assistant leader, where my task was to help the team leader check our colleagues’ output. Being diligent, goal-oriented, and keen on detail, made me receive my regularisation within a month instead of waiting for six months.

With the situation that we have right now, working at home gives me the opportunity to provide for my family without risking our family’s health. No hassle of everyday traffic, I can manage my time and the compensation is higher than working for a corporate.

I aim to strive more and upgrade my skills to serve the best service that my clients deserve.
