Elaine Lim – Administrative Assistant
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in AB Communication Arts at the Ateneo University, one of the most prestigious schools here in the Philippines. I have also completed a Certificate of Instruction in QuickBooks. During the start of the pandemic, I started taking a few units in AB Psychology so I can proceed to taking a Master’s Degree eventually, something I’ve been wanting to do since my Uni years.
Professionally, I started my career as an Editorial Assistant and was eventually promoted to Editor/Writer in publishing companies in the Philippines and Singapore, providing administrative and editorial assistance to the Editor-in-Chief and the rest of the editorial staff. My job responsibilities include: styling, organizing, documentation, research, events planning, coordinating photo shoots and other administrative tasks, also proofreading, editing, and writing. I also worked as a Writer/Segment Producer for a television station in the Philippines. My tasks include: transcription, research, writing spiels and news releases, and article writing.
I love books and I do a lot of reading during my spare time. Some of my favorites are books by Paulo Coehlo: Veronika Decides to Die and The Alchemist—two totally different genre but both inspire us to follow our dreams, express who we are, and ultimately, find our true selves.
My love for books and words transcended into writing. Writing is where I get to express my thoughts freely. I have contributed and published articles for Youngblood, an Opinion column, of The Philippine Daily Inquirer from 2000 to 2014. One of which was chosen to be published in their book Youngblood 3 in 2012.
Currently, while waiting for a work-from-home job opportunity, I help manage our family’s business by handling customer service, taking and shipping out online orders, doing paperwork, marketing strategy, and establishing online presence through SNS.
