Dheana De Guzman – General Virtual Assistant
Hi, my name is Dheana De Guzman, but you can call me Dea. I am a proud furmom with a loving dog named Mandie. As the eldest sibling and breadwinner of my family, I take it upon myself to support my mother and send my three younger siblings to school until they complete college. Most of my friends describe me as a jolly, talkative, and organised person who is easy to get along with. They also say I am funny, hard-working, adaptable, and an excellent problem-solver.
I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education Major in English. I used to teach English subjects to over 200+ high school students daily in a public school. While it was challenging, I had fun teaching my students. After graduation, I realised that teaching was not my calling. I decided to apply for a job in a call center, and fortunately, I passed all the interviews and assessments.
At the age of 21, I started working as a customer service representative in a BPO company. During my time there, I learned a lot about business processes and operations. After a year, I decided to pursue new opportunities and applied for a job in a bank. Again, I passed the interviews and assessments and landed a job as a teller. While working in the bank, I gained valuable knowledge about finance and sales.
I learned how to sell bank products such as credit cards, loans, and insurance. Later on, I returned to the BPO industry to gain more experience. Working in a call center allowed me to handle different tasks, including answering calls, replying to emails, troubleshooting, processing refunds, setting appointments, creating accounts, onboarding store and restaurant owners, following up on missing documents, assisting customers with device issues, resolving service issues, and upgrading phone plans.
However, working in a call center also meant missing out on important family gatherings and events. But during the pandemic, I learned about working remotely and began studying different tools and techniques for becoming a virtual assistant. After working as a customer service representative for over four years, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a virtual assistant. Through my experiences, I have learned valuable skills such as teamwork, time management, organisation, reliability, proactive, collaboration, problem-solving, and staying positive despite challenges.
I am excited to grow my career as a virtual assistant and continue learning new skills in this industry
