David Chiva III – Human Resource, Social Media Manager, CRM
Hi! My name is David Tabuada Chiva III, but most of my friends call me Thirdy. Not that I do not want to be called by my real name, but David is my father’s and grandfather’s name. I want to have my own name. The unique me. And the name Thirdy has its personality.
I am 32 years old and have been working for roughly 14 years. I jump-started my career in the outsourcing industry working for several call center companies as a Customer Service and a Technical Support Associate way back in 2008. I worked my way up the ladder and was able to perform roles such as Escalations Specialist, Subject Matter Expert, Floor Support, Team Lead Trainee, Quality Analyst, and a Trainer.
My Call Center stint ended when I started venturing into the industry of Virtual Assistants. With little to no know-how of what a Virtual Assistant is doing, I took the leap of faith and tried applying. Luckily, I got my first job as a Virtual Professional and started as an Executive Admin Assistant, then became a Database and Social Media Manager and lastly a Human Resources Generalist.
My work experiences are very different from the course I took up during my college years. I took up Engineering but I ended up working in Customer Service and Human Resources. Although it was a total shift of interest, I did not regret anything about it. Being in the Customer Service and Human Resources field, I get to be a mentor, an influencer, and a role model for my colleagues. This is one thing I am passionate about. To be a help in someone’s success story.
I have a lot of people to thank for the assistance they have given me to reach where I am right now. With their help, accompanied by my hard work, determination, and perseverance I was able to reach roles that I never thought I would be able to achieve before. I always believe that hard work will always pay off. Here I am now, proudly helping others as well, sharing the knowledge I have garnered for 14 years of working experience, for them to be able to start their career.
As I continue to venture into this newfound Virtual Assistance career, I am still open to more learnings as I trek towards new roles and challenges. I know that there is more to come for me and I am ready to face it head-on. I am excited to learn more and impart it to people who need it.
There is more to my journey, and I am willing to unfold each page with excitement.
