Cyde Charisse Iballa – Customer Service Representative

cyde-charisse-iballa-formalHey there! My name is Cyde Charisse Iballa. I don’t have a nickname, so my friends call me Cyde or Cydee because they say that my name sounds better in two syllables. I just turned 36 last August. I’m single but in a 7 year relationship. I am passionate in everything that I do. I always make sure to give my 101 percent in everything that I do. I am obesessive compulsive in a good way. And I like everything organise as it calms me.

We are a family of five and we are very close. Family is very important to me, they always come first. I am the oldest. I have two sisters, the middle one is married and has two beautiful daughters, 7 and 1 years of age. My youngest sister is also single and currently working in a BPO company. My father is 59 years old. He is still working but will retire next year and my mother is a housewife, and she’s 57 years old. My father is very hard working. I guess that’s one of the traits I got from him. I also have three dogs. Two of my dogs I adopted them from a dog shelter which I am also a volunteer at. My other dog is a Dachshund.

I am gay and proud. Being gay in a very conservative country like the Philippines is really hard. I have been in the closet for so many years, until I met my long time partner. That’s when I decided to come out. At first it was a struggle. My mother cyde-charisse-iballa-funhad a hard time accepting it, until recently. I totally understand because they were raised in a very conservative way. She’s not that open minded about this kind of relationship. My father and my sisters were cool about it though.

Cooking is my passion and my dream is to start my own restaurant someday. Before that happens, I have to work hard for that dream to become a reality. I also love watching movies, listening to music and travelling. I also do yoga. My latest hobby is planting. I also like biking during weekends together with my partner.

I have 3 years experience as a Customer Service Representative in a BPO company. We cater to our clients through emails and sometimes outbound calls, depending on the client’s concern. I’ve learned so much during my stay at my previous company. I got along really well with my teammates; they became my second family. Although I really loved my job, I have to make a very hard decision to quit for personal reasons. Now I realise that quitting my job and choosing to go home was a blessing in disguise because of what is happening right now in the world.
