Crizel Cabaddu – Administrative Assistant, Human Resource
Hi, I am Crizel. We are seven (7) in the family. I have four (4) siblings and I am the middle child. When I was in college, I promised myself that I will fund for my youngest brother’s education and provide all his needs because I wanted to help my parents with our finances. I strived hard to have a stable job that can support me as well as my brother’s needs.
I used to work as an HR staff in one of the known banks in the Philippines .When I was in that company, I thought I found something that I considered as my long term job, but when I experienced how hard it was to go to work at 5AM to avoid the traffic even though my shift starts at 8AM, I just felt exhausted.
That was my turning point to shift to a job that doesn’t deal with any traffic. I decided to find a new job as a virtual assistant. I have been a virtual assistant for 3 years now in a property management company in the US where I process rental applications, leasing, invoicing, vendor management, maintenance coordination and post properties in an advertising site.
During my free time or whenever I feel overwhelmed about everything, I bake cookies, cakes and breads because it helps calm my brain and soul. I find joy and it diverts my emotions immediately. Whenever I get the chance to take some time off at work, I travel and hike. I am fascinated by nature, so I typically go to places like beaches, forest, falls and mountains in our country first and then hopefully abroad next.
To wrap this up, I encourage everyone to not stop looking for a place where you belong. When you reach the point of giving up, pause for a minute and find something that excites you and then begin again when you feel like you are ready. Just make sure to not lose yourself in the process of finding it. You might not find it right away but don’t stop looking for it. Because once you do, it will totally going to be worth the wait.
