Christian Fortun – General Virtual Assistant

christian-fortun-vaPlease call me Chris.

I’m 38 years old, I’m married, and I have 4 kids. I used to party a lot until my eldest was born. I realised that being a dad is my “LIFE”. Most of the time I’m just at home, I just go out and visit new and good restaurants from time to time.

I’m a teacher by profession. I finished my Bachelor of Science in Social Studies at Rizal Technological University. I used to teach high school kids, it went on for like a year and decided to quit because of the very low salary. I joined a contact center after that, and I helped people over the phone solve their issues with the product/s that we’re catering to. It continued for several years, jumping from one company to another until I realised that my kids were growing up and I’d like to see them grow. I mean, I want to be hands-on, I’d like to see them every day from the moment I close I open my eyes and close them. So, I decided to find a job online that I can do at home. It was 2018 when I joined the work-from-home club, and to tell you, I’m grateful up to this day because of it. I don’t need to commute to go to work like the other anymore, and I enjoy the comfort of my home while working, these things are just great and I get a full spectrum of work and life! Though I started at $1.88/hr, I still feel blessed that I joined the club. I am still recruiting most of my friends to work at home for them to experience greatness. I mean, I know they are earning and thriving doing corporate but this is different, it is way better.

christian-fortun-vaAttending parent-teacher meetings is my thing now. I love to travel and do a long ride as long as my family’s with me and my laptop, of course! Looking back on my “party-animal” days, it never crossed my mind that god and my family would be at my center. There’s a “calming” effect knowing that I’m just here outside our room working while they are sleeping.

As of the moment, I only work full time, and I don’t get multiple clients because I believe that you cannot serve 2 masters at once, and I am always after the quality of the output of every task. I’m not a perfectionist, but I always try to do my best and drive excellence.
