Charlhynn Anne S. Velasquez – Customer Service Representative
My name is Charlhynn but everyone calls me Char. I am a wife and a mum of 3 beautiful kids. I was born in 1988 and was raised in the Philippines. My mum had me when she was 20 and with that being said, she and my dad did not have enough money to raise me.
As my mum said, she gave birth to me for my grandma, because ever since I was born, I have stayed with my grandparents. Since I am the eldest in the family, everyone was so fond of me especially my grandparents. I had everything that I wanted. As other people say, I am a spoiled brat. 😉
I started going to school when I was 2 1/2 years old. I was very eager to learn a lot of things. As per my parents and relatives, I was really talkative, even though I was only 2 years old, I talked a lot!
I went to college in 2005 and took up nursing as my course. It wasn’t really what I wanted, though. My grandparents told me that Nursing was in demand at that time and that my uncle from the states could petition me once I had graduated and taken the licensure exam. But then again, I didn’t like it. I just had no choice because I wanted make my grandma happy. My first choice was culinary arts, however, it was too expensive and they told me that I’m going to have a hard time earning money if I took that course. So I decided to pursue Nursing. But, my life was changed when my grandma died a year later. And that’s the main reason why I dropped out of college and looked for a job.
A few months later, I applied at a well-known company here in the Philippines and all over the world. Fortunately, I was hired! I was in a total shock because I didn’t believe that I would pass the hiring process. It was my very first job after College as a Customer Service Representative and I was super excited to try and learn new things. I was very anxious at the same time about what would happen, but everything went well. I passed all the trainings and started in the production right away. From CSR (Customer Service Representative) to Email support, then Tier 2 Customer Service Associate and then Senior Specialist and lastly Account Executive (Sales Associate). I also worked as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of the company and that was a whole new experience for me. I enjoyed working as an EA and events Organiser as well since everyone in the office helped me out each time! I handled a lot of events and supervised a team. It was a very fun experience for me.
Nonetheless, my life experiences and work experience taught me that we must take everything one step at a time. I also learned that you cannot gain respect if you do not treat others well. And that you should know when to stop, especially if you are already tired and worn out.
I may not have experience as a Virtual Assistant, but I am positive that I can definitely do every task you will give me with a little bit of supervision because I am a fast learner and a goal-driven person.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story and I’m looking forward to working with you. 🙂
