Catherine Guapa – Data Analyst, Administrative Assistant
Hi, I am Catherine Guapa, you can call me Cathie for short. I graduated with a Degree in Bachelor of Science in Office Administration with, Major in Office Management in City University of Pasay. When I was in college, I became a student council of our university that organized student events and activities, addressing student issues and concerns. I also became Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of our barangay for local youth development.
I am a working student. When I was in college, I started to work as a Promodiser of the food industry in a Supermarket. I dealt with customers to buy our products, demonstrating, promoting, distributing product samples, and providing customer assistance as needed. After graduation, an opportunity came for me to work as an Account Executive in a Logistics Company. It was not an easy role because I do not have experience in freight forwarding but I have knowledge in terms of selling products. That’s why I applied my previous experience to my new job, and it helped me when I was starting my new career as a salesperson. I boost my confidence when having a presentation and proposal of the services that we offer, maintaining good business relationships with our clients, looking for new clients, closing sales leads, and contributing to increasing the company’s sales by achieving our monthly quota. Because of my hard work and passion as an Account Executive for 4 years, I was promoted to Sales Manager. In this role, I also do sales and the additional task is to manage the team which is new experience for me because I am handling the team of account executives to make sure that we are on-track to achieving sales target and revenue growth, I do pricing recommendation, sales strategies on how to close a deal, negotiation, training to the newly hired teammate. I learn fast from this task with the help and coaching of my previous head, I can make my own decisions under my limits, I also teach what I’ve learned to my colleague’s so that we can work as a team.
After six years of working in sales at a logistics freight forwarding company, I decided to change my career to another industry to continue to grow and learn some new tasks that I haven’t had the opportunity to tackle in my current role. I tried to apply to a BPO company and surprisingly, a new opportunity came. This is a new industry, a new work environment, and new teammates, I challenge myself to motivate myself to this new role and it didn’t take long for me to adapt and adjust to the new environment. I built experience in this new role as Data Analyst by being responsible for auditing and maintaining the correct data, sales support, analysing, creating new product SKUs, data entry, submitting clients deal registration to request discounts, and sending reports via notification email. I can work well because we are working from home which is stress-free, enjoyable, productive, and flexible.
Working from home is best for me and my family. It also increases my work productivity and leads to healthier lifestyles by maintaining work-life balance. My key strength is the ability to get things done in a timely and productive manner. I am a hardworking, wholehearted worker and responsible person. Hence, it is extremely important for me to deliver the best result to my clients. I am willing to be trained and learn about the work or task to be given and I will give my best to perform this task. My goal is to have a stable job with a good career, and learn new skills to expand my knowledge to continue developing and growing.
