Carolina Serrano – Customer Service Executive
Hi, I am Carolina Santelices Serrano, you can call me Carol. I am a wife and mother of 2 lovely children. I am a dog lover and enjoy watching Netflix movies during my days off.
I started out working early as an accounting associate for a hotel and an English tutor in a school-based both abroad. dealing with clients, ledger, invoices, filing, and paperwork. Then along came an opportunity for me to work in a BPO industry here locally. It was not an easy decision since this is a new environment, full of unknown factors involved but I took the leap and chose to work dealing with customer service handling different clients and various accounts.
Surprisingly, it didn’t take long for me to be able to adapt to the new environment. From 2008 until now, it has become a passion and my bread and butter. I built my experience through client support, google workspace, excel spreadsheet, basic online graphic design, travel management, calendar management, reporting, scheduling, and digital marketing. I learn fast and can cross-function within the company. I can work well alone or with a team. I find teaching my colleagues what I know fulfilling, as I aim to set a great work environment and work culture for the team. Being diligent in my work, goal-oriented, keen on detail, resourceful, and equipped with a different set of skills and knowledge makes me an outstanding Customer Service Representative.
Over the years, understanding the culture and environment of the company is important, a good attitude and consistently giving your best, and being accountable for your work in all aspects is an important factor in achieving success.
These have been the virtues I’ve learned working in a BPO industry; a stressful and fast-paced work environment. Working a graveyard shift makes it harder. Sometimes surviving in this environment would be a key ingredient fit for success in this real tough world. Given the time difference between our customers, being away from home since I am in the city and to fulfill the role of the sole breadwinner, a wife, and a mother. The one thing I know is that this environment is best for me and my family. Aside from providing for my family, I believe that time is one important factor I can give them, and juggling another hat will be a big financial help and enable me to provide more for my family.
I aim to grow further with my career and learn more skills and knowledge along the way to better myself and apply them to both my work and life.
And I do believe that my years of experience and my work values will always be my X-factor, I may say.
