Bonifacio Francisco – Administrative Assistant

Hi, my name is Boni, and here’s my short story.

I finished my degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Accounting in March of 1984. It took me for a couple of years to find a job but, I was eventually hired as a logistic staff member for a small private marketing company, coordinating with various suppliers in developing samples for marketing.

In 2001, I worked as an Office Assistant in a private Export Trading company owned by an Australian national but originally Bangladeshi, then they transferred me to the Purchasing Department where I was responsible for sourcing and ordering various items for our Export Trading Business to Pacific Islands, Micronesians Islands, Koror, Papua New Guinea, Nauru and other Central Pacific islands.

After 3 years the management decided to put me in sales where I managed orders from our overseas clients.

I had to travel every 3 months to visit our clients in Koror, Micronesian and the Pacific Islands. They again promoted me to an Export Manager. I worked with our company’s attorney to file a demand letter to those who could not pay their outstanding debt. After 12 years, our Australian owner unfortunately passed away leaving his wife, who had no knowledge on business, and decided to close the Export Trading business.

In 2016, an Accounting firm owned by an Australian National, who handled the account of my previous employer, contacted me and informed me that they were willing to open an Export Trading Company to continue serving all our previous overseas clients. The company hired me as an Operations Manager until recently, due to covid-19, our operations were put on a very limited skeletal work schedule.

I am currently working from home with limited days of work and cannot travel abroad to visit our clients. I decided to look for another field of job that can be done even during this time of Pandemic. I believe that working remotely or virtually gives opportunities to those who want to grow professionally and develop their skills and talent from the comfort of their home while providing excellent and satisfying results to their client.
