Abbegail Ugto – Virtual Assistant, Customer Service Agent

Hi, I’m Abbegail Ugto from Tarlac City Philippines, you can call me Bey. I’m a mom to a beautiful 5-year-old daughter. I took up a Business Administration Major in Marketing Management at Tarlac State University in 2014. I then started working days before my graduation ceremony as a Training Coordinator and then shifted my career as Assistant Restaurant Manager to the Philippines’ number one fast food chain (Jollibee) from 2015 to 2020.

Year 2019, when the pandemic came, I became a mom. So I looked for opportunities where I could just stay at home with my child, witnessing her milestones in life and at the same time providing for her needs. I used all the resources that I know to help myself to start my VA journey.

I left the corporate world in 2020 and I transitioned as a remote worker. I have to admit that my journey looking for my very first home-based job was not easy but thank God, my motivation and goals pushed me to achieve what I really wanted so I got hired by my first foreign client as a part-time General Virtual Assistant with almost a similar role to my first job in the corporate industry.

Having my first VA job is a stepping stone for me, I’m grateful with all the people I worked with because I was able to adjust to the work-from-home setting from working outside of my home in the past years. A year after that, I aimed to support not just my own family but my parents as well so I decided to look for a full-time home-based job. My experiences from my first VA job helped me land my second client. I was hired as an Administrative VA, part of the client services team from 2021-2023. As much as I wanted to stay on this job, the company faced financial challenges where sacrifices needed to be made to keep them going.

Today, with my 3+ years of remote work experience, I’m still amazed at how being a Virtual Assistant has changed my life. I always find joy in helping my clients even in the simplest ways and that joy will continue by looking for better opportunities this career might have to offer. I will be glad to share my knowledge and experiences which honed me to become a reliable, flexible, and resourceful virtual assistant by also constantly learning with every business I worked with.
