Shelley Bautista – Technical Support Associate, Customer Service Representative
Hi, I am Shelley Bautista, I am 25 years old, a wife and mom of 2 lovely girls. An undergraduate from Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation for the course Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. The reason as to why I haven’t finished college is because my father was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. He needed to undergo hemodialysis treatment 3 times a week and this should be a lifetime treatment for him. I didn’t have any choice before but to give up my studies since we were struggling financially, me and my sisters needed to set aside school in order for us to help my mom to provide money for my father’s medical needs. It was hard, giving up the dream I thought I could reach but with just one snap I couldn’t even see myself going back to school again. Given the thought that me and my eldest sister were not able to finish college still saddens me until now, however, I am still thankful because it gave us a chance to grow as an individual when we started working to provide for our parents’ medication.
This opened a door for me to apply in the BPO industry since I do believe I have the skills to become a call centre agent. And so, I applied and was given the chance to be hired with my first-ever company. A few years ago, I worked with the BPO industry for international accounts, working in positions as a customer service representative, technical support associate, and senior process executive for the past years.
Working in this industry helped me a lot in conversing with different types of people so I could become more efficient with my work. Being able to handle multiple tasks all at the same time gives me the drive to become a virtual assistant. Also having the privilege to work remotely in the comfort of your home, earning money while spending time with my kids and being able to help them whenever they need me the most is my ultimate dream as a mom. I really do hope I could achieve all of these goals as I start to venture into the VA World. Providing for my kids, and giving them the financial freedom so they don’t have to worry about how they could finish their studies is really my dream for them, so they don’t have to go through what I had experienced years ago.
My kids and my family are my treasure and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure I land this job. That is why I am fully committed and I am very willing to give my all just to make sure it would be possible for me to achieve another milestone in my life as a Virtual Assistant!
