Irish Grace Deguito – Administrative Assistant

irish-deguito-vaHi, I am Irish Grace Deguito, you can call me Grace. I grew up with a complete family and supportive parents. I recently graduated from Northeastern Mindanao College with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. And I graduated because of a scholarship. I took a review for a board exam to get a license but unfortunately, I didn’t take a board exam due to lack of finances. I always cry because of that.

While taking the review, I applied for a full-time job in a salon to support my sister and myself but it’s not enough. My parent’s occupation is a farmer; they can’t support us 100%. But I know there’s a way that someday I can fulfill my dreams.

I enrolled for online training as a virtual assistant and I am studying all niches. I’m so grateful to my coaches because they’re so good and approachable. After online training, I always study and watch YouTube about the tools so that I can learn more and practice. I thought I didn’t have the skills for this but after training I was shocked. It’s not easy to become a virtual assistant if you don’t have any skills or experience but for me, if I do it well there’s no impossible, and always trust in god.

And also, I already finished all my requirements. I tried to apply to all websites or direct hirings so that I could get clients but unfortunately, I didn’t get any emails. But that’s a big challenge. While working at home is very different from being at an office, it was not an easy decision since this is a new environment. As a beginner Virtual Assistant, my daily tasks include checking my emails, always practicing doing sample work, being diligent in my work, and enhance also my communication skills and organisational skills. There’s no easy path to success and when I get a client I know I someday it will happen. Someday I can work with them and show them my skills too. I aspire to advance my career by continuously growing and acquiring new skills and knowledge. This journey will not only enhance my professional abilities but also enrich my personal life, allowing me to apply what I learn in meaningful ways.
