Frences Suico – Administrative Assistant
Hi, my name is Frences Suico; you can call me Inday. I am a wife and mother of a 2-year-old handsome baby boy. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education Major in Industrial Arts and a vocational course in Diploma in Information Technology Major in Programming in the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, and I graduated as Cum Laude. I finished these two courses without asking any amount of money from my parents because I know that my parents are financially unstable the truth is that they can’t afford to send me to college due to financial constraints, so I made up a decision to work while studying and it makes my parents so proud of me.
Recently, I applied to different jobs already, but some of them rejected me. I felt so sad, but I just think that rejection is part of our lives, and maybe it is because I am not really sure if I am ready to work and leave my son to his nanny, but I have to find a job and have an income so that I can help my live-in partner to support our needs.
I decided to apply as a virtual assistant where I can earn money and at the same time I can take good care of my son, and I don’t have to travel to go to work. I was a former cashier in one of the most famous supermarkets here in the Philippines for one year, an office staff at Jimenez Municipal Fire Station for three months, and a practice teacher for three months. I gained a lot of knowledge and skills from these companies, which I can apply to a virtual assistant role. I am really confused about this job, so I told myself, Why not give it a try? We don’t know that maybe being a virtual assistant is my meant job. Every time I see advertisements about becoming a virtual assistant, it motivates and inspires me to become one of them.
Although working from home differs greatly from working in an office, I am confident that this setting is the most comfortable for my family and myself. In addition to supporting my family, I think that one of the most valuable things I can provide them is my time, which I can do by working from home. I want to advance in my job and acquire new abilities and information to help me become a better person and use it in both my work and personal life.
