Al Denmark M. De Torres – General Virtual Assistant
Hi! I’m Al Denmark M. De Torres, but you can just call me Alden. I’m 27, married to my amazing wife, and together we have an energetic 3-year-old son who keeps us on our toes! I’m a Virtual Assistant, and I specialise in customer support, basic data entry, basic bookkeeping, and a little bit of video editing. I love being able to help businesses keep everything in order and running smoothly.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me doing something active. I love playing basketball, volleyball, and badminton. I also enjoy dancing and singing—though whether I’m good at it or not is up for debate, haha! Aside from that, I’m a big fan of watching movies, scrolling through TikTok and Facebook videos, and diving into anime. When I’m feeling anxious, I like to read eBooks, Manga, or Manhwa that are connected to my favourite anime—it’s a great way for me to relax and get lost in another world for a while.
Even though I’m generally a happy, talkative guy, I do have some fears. I’m scared of heights for sure, but more than that, I really worry about making mistakes that might hurt other people. I hate the idea of causing problems for someone else, and when things go wrong because of something I’ve done, it really makes me anxious.
I’ve worked a lot of different jobs over the years. I’ve been helping out since I was young, starting with transporting mangoes (yep, you heard that right), working at a roasting pig business, assisting as a cameraman for events, laboring on construction sites, being a sales agent for a telecom company, working as a skilled insulation worker at a power plant, and even being a data analyst in a BPO company. I’ve also been a safety officer, and one of my favourite past jobs was as a Zumba instructor at a retail store! I’d lead morning dance routines for my co-workers before the store opened to help get everyone energised and ready for the day. It was such a fun experience!
While I didn’t finish my college degree in Drafting Technology, I’ve completed several vocational courses like Pipefitting NCII, Safety Officer training, and Virtual Assistant training. Learning and growing in my field is important to me, and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
As the breadwinner in my family, life can get pretty stressful. I’ve felt the pressure, disappointment, and fear that come with not having finished my studies and not always having the right job to fully support my family. But I’ve got big dreams! I’m working hard to land a stable VA job with a good salary so I can provide for my family, build our own home, buy a car, and maybe even start a business one day. I know it won’t happen overnight, but with hard work, patience, and a positive mindset, I believe I’ll make it.
