Alfred John M. Latumbo – General Virtual Assistant

alfred-latumbo-vaHi, I am Alfred John M. Latumbo, you can call me Alfred. I graduated with a degree in Multimedia Arts in Lyceum of the Philippines University. I was always interested in arts and originally wanted to get a degree in fine arts. But as technology advanced, I discovered my passion for digital arts instead of traditional one. While studying Multimedia Arts I was also the Layout editor for the University Newspaper.

I started working for Convergys as a Technical Support Representative. This was during my college years so I can pay my tuition. I would take my classes during the day and head off to work during the night. This was the time where I started to work with foreign clients. It helped me in becoming flexible because you would encounter hundreds of clients a day, all with different personalities and concerns. I would make sure all their technical concerns were resolved. We had a metric system to make sure we were performing well and to keep the job I had to perform well. I even performed well enough that I had an award as the top salesman.

I then moved on to becoming an Import and Export coordinator at small business called A.V.L. when it was brand new. I started making the company logo as well as the brand bible for the company. My responsibilities didn’t end there as I also was requested to create the designs for the uniforms, IDs, and lanyards. Later on, when I was confident enough, I spoke with the Proprietor because I noticed that the scheduling for the meetings with the clients were a bit slow. I presented myself as someone who already knew the business in and out and lead the meetings with the clients myself so that the Proprietor can attend other meetings and it was a success. I was doing this all while also being a Youtube partner. I found a hobby during my free time to upload gaming content on Youtube. Later on they sent me an email asking me to be a Youtube partner which I accepted.

The passing of the Proprietor of A.V.L. caused the business to close its doors. So I had to move on and started working for The Virtual Hub. It was my first work from home experience and there was certainly a learning curve with being a VA. However it got me excited learning new applications used by people in the world of business.

I’ve grown to love the culture and experiences in becoming a VA. And now I think it’s time for the next chapter in my life and show how much I’ve learned and grown to offer my skills and talents in joining your company.
