Thia Morales – Accounting

thia-morales-vaHello! My name is Thia Lee Morales, most of the people who know me used to call me Thel. I became a mother at the age of 19. I have taken up Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management in La Consolacion College Bacolod but wasn’t able to finish because of my little one. After a year of being a full-time mom, I decided to go back to school and took up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Binalbagan Catholic College-and this time I was able to graduate. I am attended a church school at Brigham Young University in Idaho, and it lead me to have a certificate in Basic Accounting as well as Certificate in Business Communication.

I started working as an Accounting Staff in a local exclusive distributor company in our place for three years, which involves a lot of accounting works including physical inventory, manual charge of payments, data entry, as well as admin and clerical works and using QuickBooks Online. So, every day, I travel for almost two hours just to be in my workplace. I know it is very hard to travel every day because the pandemic is really life-threating. That is why I wanted to shift my career path as a full-time working from home employee. I want to explore more; I want to go out from my comfort zone and have a new work environment.

Throughout my years being an Accounting staff, I learned to value time and people. I learned to respect other people’s opinion and to take constructive criticism. I always believe that two heads are always better than one and there is nothing wrong when you for an ask help when you get stuck. Having attention to details at my work gives me enough experience to look for a new opportunities that will provide a sense of fulfillment by helping other people as well. Over the years of working, I have gained new knowledge and supplement my thia-morales-vaskills every day. With a BS Degree in Accountancy, I have a comprehensive understanding of the Accounting cycles and projects. I also have experience in learning and applying new accounting software as appropriate.

Working from home opportunity is the best way for me to work in a new working set-up without compromising the health of my family. Aside from working from the comfort of my home, I can also spend my spare time with my family as well as providing their needs.

I know it is not always easy to look for a job which you are new to its environment, but I always believe there is always a perfect timing for everything, no rush! I am a goal-oriented person, and looking forward to more career growth, aiming to help myself learn more every day in order for me to help other people and my work.
