PJ – Teller
Hi, I’m Princess! Princess is just my name, it has nothing to do with having royal blood.
I am the only daughter of my parents and I have two older brothers. I grew up in a farming community. I cannot deny the fact that it was difficult because we were financially challenged.
Being the only daughter, everyone in the family gave me special treatment, and they were all overprotective to the point that, as much as possible, they would not let me do any hard work on our farm. With this, you might say I lived an easy life but no – I could always see everyone’s sacrifices, especially my parents. It hurt me seeing them working so hard under the heat of the sun just to provide for our daily needs.
My parents are both farmers and that is why I strived to finish my college. By God’s grace, I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Operation Management.
I started my career as a teller for one and a half years in a private company where I honed my customer service skills. I worked diligently to ensure customers had a positive experience each visit and transaction. I greeted and assisted customers, and provided support by accurately completing cash transaction daily. It was also important to have basic accounting skills, as I was expected to maintain an accurate and balanced cash drawer at all times and complete all the customer transactions. I was also expected to have the ability to assist multiple customers at one time, while still being accurate and efficient. I developed problem-solving skills which allowed me to handle customers complaints and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I lost my job. I have been staying at home for only a few months, but already everything is flashing back to the past – all my parent’s sacrifices and the promises I made them after I graduated… it should now be me who should be helping them! It has been really hard to find a job during this pandemic but I must say, it is harder and breaks my heart into tiny pieces trying to survive every single day and seeing my parents still doing the work for me when it should be me who is helping them.
But here I am, with a positive attitude knowing that everything happens for a reason and that I will soon find a job if I persevere and don’t give up. I believe that these experiences have made me a better person and helped me change the way I look at things. I learned to appreciate every little thing and I will for sure treasure whatever job is given to me.
I believe that I have developed skills such as having a positive attitude at work, staying calm even under pressure, and being able to multitask. Also, being helpful not only to our customers but also to my colleagues. I believe I can offer my desire for excellence and my ability to be flexible, as well as my inbuilt values of honesty, reliability, integrity, passion and joy in working.
I believe that my commitment to handling work would further allow me to make a valuable contribution to yours.
